Major Sections & Navigation
Four major themes divide the Chickscope project into sections. These
themes are represented by the colorful folder tabs to the left of
each page. Each tab is labeled with the corresponding theme, and
is color-coded to enhance the distinction between sections.
Each tab represents the following sections:
EXPLORE
|
Covers the sciences: embryology, mathematics,
image processing, et cetera. Lessons
covering particular topics may also be found
within the EXPLORE section.
|
ROOSTS
|
Quasi-official sources of information written by
the Chickscope researchers and personnel. Often
the best place to look for contact information
or personal responses from the staff
members. Not all staff have ROOSTS though.
|
SCHOOLS
|
Home pages and information about the schools
participating in the current incarnation of the
Chickscope project.
|
HELP
|
Help pages for either the entire website or for
individual programs. Help pages are
context-sensitive: the HELP tab from a program
page - like the Database - points to the help
page specifically about that program. From the
Database help, the HELP tab goes to this page.
|
The tabs change color depending upon the mode and
the location of the current page. Assuming
JavaScript has been enabled, each time the mouse
passes over a tab, the tab shifts color. When
selected, the tab changes again.

The EXPLORE tab on pages outside of the
EXPLORE sections of the website - as it would
appear on pages in the SCHOOLS section, for
instance.

EXPLORE sections of the website.

The EXPLORE tab as it appears when selected,
and on all pages within the EXPLORE section.
|
The tabs change color "permanently" on pages
contained within a particular section. This visual
cue helps to identify the current, active section
of the website. Selected tabs point to the top-level
page of the current section.
