Pages, Units, & Navigation
Many pages of the website can be considered part of a sequence: that
one should be read before or after another as in a book. The majority
of pages of this type can be found in the EXPLORE
section.
"CD Player"-like buttons are often found in the
upper and lower right-hand corners of pages. These
buttons help navigate from page to page and unit to
unit.

Go back one unit, skipping in a
threaded circle backwards through the list of
units/sections at the same level.
|
Go back one page. If the first or top page of
a unit, this backs up to the very last page of
the unit.
|
Go up one level. This is either the first page
of the unit (if in the middle of a unit) or to
the encapsulating section.
|
Go forward one page. If the last page in a
unit, returns to the first or top page of the
unit.

All "CD Player" buttons follow a sequence that can
be thought of as a great circle. Pressing the
"page-forward" button repeatedly cycles through the pages
eventually returning to the starting point. Pressing
the "unit-forward" button repeated cycles through the
units eventually returning to the starting
point. The same principle applies to the
"page-backward" and "unit-backward" buttons.
The "up" button breaks out of this cycle. At the
lowest level, the up button points to the first page
of the current unit. At any other level, it points
to the super-section containing the current
unit/section.
